1. Present simple tense (Thì hiện tại đơn)
Cách dùng:
• Diễn tả một hành động lặp lại hay một sự việc thưởng hay xảy ra.
He does morning exercise every day.
We go to school five days a week.
• Diễn tả một sự việc có thực trong một khoảng thời gian dài.
I live in Ha Noi.
My father works for a construction company.
• Diễn tả một chân lí hoặc một sự thật hiển nhiên.
Water boils at 100^oC. (degree Celsius)
The Earth goes round the Sun.
• Nói về một hành động trong tương lai đã được lập kế hoạch trước.
The new school year starts on 5 September.
The last bus leaves at 7 p.m.
• Nói về một hành động tương lai trong mệnh đề bắt đầu bằng if hoặc when.
If the weather is fine tomorrow. I’ll go to the beach with my parents.
When I arrive there. I’ll phone you.
Ghi nhớ:
Các trạng từ sau đây thường được dùng với thời hiện tại:

2. Indefinite articles: a/an
• a/an được dùng với một danh từ số ít và nghề nghiệp của một người.
There is a pen on the table, (a dùng trước danh từ bắt đầu bằng phụ âm.)
My mother is an engineer, (an dùng trước danh từ bắt đầu băng nguyên âm.)
• a/an dược dùng khi người nghe không biết đích xác chúng ta muốn nói đến cái nào.
Have you got a car?
She is looking for a job.
